1st Period – Race and Social Justice in U.S. History – 7:45-8:49

AnnMarie Bowlus and Emily Johansen is the TA.

1.      Have students take out their Reconstruction packets.

2.      Show segment from Ulysses S. Grant – students should answer the appropriate questions in their Reconstruction packets.

3.      Begin segment titled Part IV – The Struggle for Civil Rights Continues:  Ida B. Wells, Washington and DuBois and Realities of Jim Crow

4.      Show video from “Reconstruction DVD” – Ida B. Wells.  After video discuss question.

5.      Show video from “Reconstruction DVD” – Emmitt Till.  After video discuss queston

6.      Hand out packet The West:  A Geography of Hope.  Have students complete Part I for homework.

 

2nd Period – Race and Social Justice in U.S. History

Andrew Tkach is the TA

1.      Have students take out their Reconstruction packets.

1.      Have students take out “Age of Reform Investigation”.  Have students complete introductory readings.

2.        Have students watch video “America’s History in the Making:  Antebellum Reform”.  (Video is only 28 minutes long) Students will answer the question that goes with the video on a separate sheet of paper.

 

6th Period – A.P. U.S. Government  1:40-2:32

Erin Rooney is the TA. 

1.      Have students take out their Democracy in America:  Judiciary questions. 

2.      Show video and have students answer questions

3.      DUE TUESDAY.

a.       Have students answer the “Six Reasons Implementation Fails”.

b.      Have students complete Case Study:  Voting Rights Act of 1965

2.      Democracy in America:  Little League Umpires (click Bureaucracy and then forward to  16 minutes 56 seconds).  Students will answer questions associated with this case study.

3.      Have students complete final two case studies (Why FEMA Failed and the FCC Court Case).  We will watch “EPA Cleans House” on Monday.  PACKET WILL BE DUE ON MONDAY.
